Former Watford sports chief Filippo Giraldi admits a deal for AC Milan defender Fikayo Tomori was close.
Giraldi says Watford were keen on Tomori before he left Chelsea for AC Milan.
He told TMW: "Yes, he was (close to joining).
"He had just returned from his loan at Derby County, he played a normal championship and at that moment I was in close contact with his agent to do it.
"It seemed like it was something that would happen done, but then in that historical moment we opted for other choices."
