Glastonbury organisers have issued a disappointing update for fans hoping Oasis would headline in 2027.
Following the huge success of their reunion tour last year, many fans have been hoping the Manchester band would be heading for Worthy Farm next June – but Emily Eavis has sadly ruled this out.
Eavis, who now heads up organising the festival founded by her father Michael, was asked by a fan on Instagram: “Please say you've got Oasis.”
She replied: “Sorry Jimmy, not this time!”
It’s not all bad news for Oasis fans though, as Liam and Noel Gallagher confirmed earlier this week that they will be performing a 38-date tour in 2027, including a string of nights at the Etihad Stadium in Manchester and a return to Knebworth.
The Gallaghers, who reunited in 2025 after a 16-year hiatus, also recently celebrated the release of their documentary, Don’t Look Back In Anger. Aptly named after one of their biggest hits, the film charts the band’s time on the road following their many years apart.
Plenty of fans had been convinced that Oasis would be one of Glastonbury 2027’s three headliners, but they’ll now need to go back to the drawing board.
Eavis confirmed that next year’s headliners have all been booked in an interview last month, where she also ruled out another huge act who had been tipped to perform.
Speaking to Katie Razzall on BBC Radio 4's PM programme, she said: “No, it's definitely not Madonna, I'll tell you that.”
“But we have got three [other] headliners and we're very excited about it – it's all coming together really well,” Eavis added.
Even with Oasis and Madonna ruled out, there are still plenty of major acts rumoured to be heading for the Pyramid Stage.
Taylor Swift, who was booked to headline in 2020 before the festival was cancelled amid the COVID-19 pandemic, remains top of the wishlist for many. And with no commitments announced for 2027, it could well be the year Swift finally heads for Worthy Farm.
Harry Styles – another star who has been rumoured for years – is also a possibility, along with Sam Fender and Irish rock band Fontaines DC.
There’s also been plenty of speculation over who will perform in the iconic Sunday afternoon Legends Slot – and another huge British star has previously thrown his hat in the ring.
Robbie Williams said in 2023: “I know I’d slaughter it. When you do Glastonbury, perception changes more than any other festival. Diana Ross could play any festival and not get any traction, but she plays Glastonbury, and everybody is talking about it, like Barry Gibb.
“A lot of people there have an oblique perception of what I am. But if they saw me do it, I would take their heads off.”
Tickets for Glastonbury 2027 will go on sale next month but the full line-up isn’t expected to be announced until next spring.
