Kuala Lumpur, 16 July 2026 – Since its creation in 1966, Pocky has turned simple moments into meaningful connections. As the iconic biscuit stick brand celebrates its 60th year of Sharing Happiness, Malaysians are invited to #ConnectWithASmile as they enjoy the improved chocolate recipe and better taste, packaging makeover and fun new sharing experiences that continue its legacy of bringing people together.

Pocky has remained a household favourite across generations, with its signature red box easily found in homes as well as classrooms and stashed in office drawers. Whether as a daily indulgence, sustenance through long study sessions or a regular companion for movie nights, it has been a familiar comfort for years. This International Friendship Day, Pocky continues to create small moments of connection that are fun, delicious and easy to share among friends, classmates and family members.

“Sixty years on, Pocky continues to connect people through the simple act of sharing joy and happiness. While lifestyles have evolved and digital interaction are more commonplace, we believe the value of genuine human connection has never been more important. Pocky has always been more than just a biscuit stick brand – it is a familiar companion that brings people together and elevates everyday moments into something special. As we celebrate this milestone, we are excited to introduce an even better Pocky experience while staying true to what people love most about the brand,” said Lee Yeen Theng, Managing Director of Glico Malaysia & International Cluster.

At the heart of the celebration is an improved Pocky Chocolate recipe that offers a more indulgent chocolate experience with a more chocolatey taste and a crispier snap. The upgrade reflects Pocky’s ongoing commitment to delivering great taste while preserving the familiar flavour that generations of fans know and love.

Now in a new package design for a more contemporary look, the upgraded Pocky Chocolate joins the brand’s popular line-up on the shelves, alongside Strawberry, Cookies & Cream, Milky Matcha, Double Chocolate, and Milk. The full range is available nationwide in stores and online.

Join the Movement to Share Happiness and Spread Joy

As part of its International Friendship Day celebrations, Pocky invites Malaysians to have some fun with its on-ground and interactive online activities – play around with convex mirrors to catch trendy fish-eye group shots or use the Pocky Smile Mirror Filter to capture and share joyful moments on social media; by tagging @pockymalaysia and using #ConnectWithASmile, participants stand a chance to win prizes worth up to RM50,000. The contest will run until 27 July 2026, so there’s still plenty of time to join in and share the fun.

Stay up-to-date on www.instagram.com/pockymalaysia for special visits to Taylor’s University (2 July), Universiti Malaya (14 and 15 July) and the link between Sunway College and Sunway University (21 July) with roving teams and Pocky sampling activities at exclusive activation zones featuring quirky convex mirrors for the best photo opportunities.

Also look out for Pocky Smile Vending Booths across Klang Valley for a quick Pocky pick-me-up and redeem exclusive Pocky Sticker Sheets at selected nationwide retailers with every purchase of two Pocky packs.

No matter the occasion or location, Pocky offers fans of all ages the opportunity to turn a simple gesture – a smile, a conversation or a shared biscuit stick – into a connection that brings people closer together.
