Kota Kinabalu: "God of Fortune" has been registered as an independent candidate in a six-cornered fight for the Kuala Lumpur parliamentary constituency of Seputeh.

Choy Sen Yeh, which means the God of Fortune in Cantonese, was reportedly registered as a candidate amid protests by other candidates on nomination day Nov 5.

According to World of Buzz, Choy Sen Yeh was not present during nomination due to a Covid-19-positive status, but her sister Liang Cui Ling was there to submit the nomination form.

When interviewed by journalists present, Liang asked them to stay away from her, since her family was Covid-19 positive. It was also reported that she remained silent and kept her mask on the entire time.

"God of Fortune" will have to contend with five other candidates eyeing the seat, namely incumbent Teresa Kok (PH), Lee Kah Hing (BN), Wong Yee Yeng (PN) and fellow independents Lee Wai Hong and Choy Sen Yeh.
