
Professional shuttler Goh Jin Wei and other independent players agree to represent Malaysia at the 2026 Thomas and Uber Cups in Denmark.
PROFESSIONAL women’s singles shuttler Goh Jin Wei has agreed to represent the national squad at the 2026 Uber Cup in Denmark.
Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM) secretary-general Datuk Kenny Goh confirmed the decision today, stating all approached independent players accepted their call-ups.
“We have received feedback from all the independent players, including Jin Wei,” he told reporters. “They have all agreed to represent the country in the Thomas and Uber Cups.”
The 2026 Thomas and Uber Cups will be held in Horsens, Denmark from April 24 to May 3.
Kenny added that the coaching set-up is finalising plans for a centralised training camp. He said discussions are ongoing regarding the training schedule for national and professional players.
“We are currently managing whether they will opt for centralised training and sorting out several other matters,” he explained. “Discussions are ongoing, including whether they will attend training twice a week or on a different arrangement.”
In addition to Jin Wei, professional men’s singles player Lee Zii Jia will join the national squad. Independent men’s doubles pair Goh Sze Fei and Nur Izzuddin Rumsani have also agreed to participate.
