Kota Kinabalu: A popular eatery in Foh Sang, Luyang, here, that thought it can get away with overcharging customers just because they love its bubur and noodles found itself in hot soup Friday evening.
Sabah Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN) personnel went undercover and found complaints about the joint in social media to be true and issued a RM200 compound without hesitation.
While the amount may mean little to the offending restaurants, the negative publicity generated from being compounded, including in social media, may make potential customers boycott such premises that are bent on profiteering.
