The Golden State Warriors have been dealt a setback ahead of the Play-In Tournament, with Stephen Curry set to operate under restrictions at the worst possible time.

The timing could hardly be more difficult, with the postseason now reduced to single-elimination pressure.

And with a crucial clash against the LA Clippers looming, any limitation on Curry immediately shifts the balance of the matchup.

Steph Curry’s minutes restriction confirmed before Play-In

In an update shared via Yahoo Sports, head coach Steve Kerr confirmed a key limitation on his star guard ahead of the tournament.

“Steph Curry will be on a minutes restriction during the Play-In Tournament, head coach Steve Kerr announced Sunday.

“Curry has logged no more than 29 minutes in his four games since returning from a two-month absence with a knee injury,” Yahoo Sports reported.

The restriction reflects a cautious approach following Curry’s recent return, but it comes at a critical moment in the Warriors’ season.

Golden State’s offense remains heavily dependent on his presence, particularly in high-stakes games where shot creation becomes limited.

Golden State Warriors set to face LA Clippers in high-stakes Play-In clash

The Warriors are set to face the LA Clippers in the Western Conference 9 versus 10 Play-In game, a win-or-go-home matchup that will decide their immediate future.

Golden State enters as the lower seed, meaning there is no margin for error in this single-elimination contest.

If the Warriors lose, their season ends immediately. A win would extend their campaign, but still require another victory to secure a playoff spot.

With Curry unlikely to play full minutes, Golden State faces a clear challenge. Their postseason hopes now depend on managing his workload while still generating enough offense to survive.
