MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) forecasted that most of the country would have good weather on Tuesday with possible rains in the later part of that day.
Pagasa Weather Specialist Charmagne Varilla told the public in the 5 p.m. Public Weather Forecast to expect the easterlies to continue prevailing in part of Batanes and Babuyan Islands on Tuesday. "That is why, let us just expect isolated rainshowers and thunderstorms," Varilla said in Filipino and English.
"And in the rest of Luzon, localized thunderstorms will prevail so our weather will remain good up to tomorrow but prepare for the chance of isolated rainshowers, thunderstorms, most especially in the afternoon," she said.
As to part of Palawan as well as the entire Visayas and Mindanao, Varilla told the public to expect the good weather to continue. "But, there are still chances of rains, thunderstorms, most especially in the afternoon or evening," she said.
Varilla told the public in part of the Visayas to "maximize the good weather up to" Tuesday "because when Wednesday comes, our habagat or southwest monsoon will return so a big part of the Visayas will experience rain again from Wednesday to Friday."
"But here in part of Central Visayas including Metro Cebu and Tacloban City, including the rest of Eastern Visayas, let us expect that the weather will become good earlier and when Friday comes, there will be only isolated rainshowers, thunderstorms," she said.
With the expected return of the southwest monsoon later this week, Varilla told the public to expect scattered rainshowers in part of Zamboanga City, including the whole Zamboanga Peninsula, and some parts of the" Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao and areas in Northern Mindanao. As to the rest of Mindanao, she told the public to expect hot and humid weather, adding that there were chances of isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms.
