Pagasa forecasts partly cloudy to cloudy skies, possible thunderstorms

MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) forecasted partly cloudy to cloudy skies and possible thunderstorms.

In its 24-Hour Public Weather Forecast issued at 4 a.m., Pagasa said the easterlies were affecting extreme north Luzon.

"We still do not feel the effect of the southwest monsoon or habagat so we do not expect widespread and long-lasting rains but there are still chances of thunderstorms," Weather Specialist Veronica Torres said in Filipino and English in the 5 a.m. Public Weather Forecast.

She said that partly cloudy to cloudy skies were expected in the entire Luzon. Based on the forecast, localized thunderstorms were possible.

Torres said that the southwest monsoon could be felt in Palawan when Wednesday or Thursday comes.

"For the weather condition in the Visayas and Mindanao, partly cloudy to cloudy skies are expected. There are still chances of thunderstorms," she said.

She also said that as early as tomorrow, it was possible that the effect of the southwest monsoon would be felt again starting from the western part of the Visayas and of Mindanao.
