MOSCOW - Sweden’s Patent and Market Court said it had ordered US company Google to pay a Swedish price comparison service 14.3 billion Swedish kronor (US$1.46 billion) in damages for violating antitrust laws.

"Google must pay PriceRunner 14.3 billion Swedish kronor in compensation for losses from violating antitrust laws," the court said on Wednesday.

PriceRunner filed a lawsuit against Google in 2022, demanding a total of 78 billion Swedish kronor in damages and interest, the court noted.

The Swedish company then claimed that Google was giving preference to its price comparison service in search results. - BERNAMA
