THE Federal Government has allocated a total of RM40 million for the repair of houses affected by the gas pipeline fire in Putra Heights, Subang Jaya earlier this month.
Selangor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amiruddin Shaari said the allocation for the repair also involves public donations.
He said the repair work for houses around Putra Heights would be carried out by Sime Darby as the developer of the housing area, while in Kampung Sungai Baru by Syarikat Perumahan Negara Berhad (SPNB).
"The process of repairing the houses will focus on aspects of basic facilities such as electrical wiring.
"For minor damage below RM30,000, homeowners can carry out the repair work on their own homes and then make a claim back to the PBT (local authority)," he told a press conference at the State Secretariat Building in Shah Alam today.
Residents' association and village head will be tasked with taking claims from residents and sending them weekly to the PBT. - April 30, 2025
