KUALA LUMPUR: The government remains committed to strengthening small and medium enterprises through various initiatives including additional guarantees and financing facilities.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim stated these efforts are crucial for Malaysia to achieve its aspiration of remaining a trusted regional investment hub.

He emphasised the importance of ensuring local enterprises and start-ups are not left behind in the wave of global economic development.

“We want to see local SMEs become more competitive in international markets,“ he said in a post on social media platform X.

Anwar stressed that the path forward must be anchored in technology, sustainability, and inclusivity to ensure continued success.

The Prime Minister, who also serves as Finance Minister, urged SMEs not to become complacent in their operations.

He highlighted that digital transformation, artificial intelligence, and automation are no longer luxuries but essential needs.

These technological advancements will determine the nation’s competitiveness and progress in the years ahead.

The government’s comprehensive support package aims to enhance innovation and digitalisation among local businesses.

This commitment reflects Malaysia’s broader strategy to maintain its position as an attractive destination for investments while nurturing domestic enterprises. – Bernama
