Govt orders PBT to open all closed roads to reduce traffic congestion

PUTRAJAYA - The main cause of road congestion in the Klang Valley is the closure of some roads and road lanes for construction work.

Therefore, the government ordered the local authorities that are involved with the road network to Putrajaya to identify and open all closed roads within two weeks.

Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said the move was necessary to ensure a smooth flow of traffic.

He said this at a press conference after the Cabinet Committee Meeting on Road Congestion (JKMKJR) Bill 1/ 2023 at Bangunan Perdana Putra here on Tuesday.
