GRAB Malaysia is working with government agency GiatMara, as well as automotive leaders BYD Sime Motors and Carsome to better support and empower its driver community.
The collaboration will enable partners to upskill, access higher-value services, and transition to electric vehicles or long-term success and sustainability.
“Our collaboration with GiatMara through GrabAcademy empowers our driver- and delivery partners with upskilling and reskilling courses so they can thrive within and beyond Grab.
“It also supports the government’s ongoing efforts to uplift this segment,” said Rashid Shukor, Director of Country Operations and Mobility.
“We are also opening more routes for driver-partners to upgrade and increase their earning opportunities.
“By working with established partners like BYD Sime Motors and Carsome, we’re making these upgrades more accessible and delivering everyday benefits for our community,” he added.
GrabAcademy, a core part of GrabBenefits, has been continuously delivering programmes with government and private partners since 2017.
These include Carsome Academy, Saito University College and Aisya Rahman Advisory, reaching thousands of driver- and delivery- partners. Its financial literacy micro-credentials have been especially impactful for driver- and delivery-partners.
The programme combines flexible online modules via GrabAcademy with hands-on training at GiatMara centres, enabling driver- and delivery-partners to learn at their own pace while gaining real-world experience. – October 9, 2025
