Local Government Ministry (KPKT) Minister Nga Kor MIng said the cabinet has agreed to this new policy.

"F&B premises like restaurants, coffee shops, mamak and more are required to obtain an A level certificate for toilet cleanliness," he said when met by reporters at the KPKT Majlis Jalinan Muhibah on Friday.

According to him, the new policy will be expanded, within three years, to include 18,000 public toilets under the municipal and district councils.

"We want them to make sure the toilets are clean and fragrant in accordance to the principles and standards of KPKT which is for the toilets to be clean, smell good, and is aesthetically pleasing," he said.

Kor Ming said discussions will be held with entrepreneurs, associations, F&B vendors regarding this matter

"We don't want any more foul-smelling or unpleasant toilets," he said.
