CRIMINAL charges have been filed against engineers and personnel of the Department of Public Works and Highways and private individuals before the Department of Justice (DOJ) in connection with alleged anomalous flood control projects in Cebu.
The two separate criminal complaints against 20 officials, employees and private individuals were filed by the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI)-Cebu District Office, DOJ spokesman Paolo Martinez said on Tuesday.
The cases arose from the allegedly irregular bidding and implementation of two flood control projects in Barangay Singsing, Balamban, Cebu.
Martinez said the first complaint was filed on July 29.
The respondents face seven criminal charges: technical malversation, malversation of public funds, violations of the Anti-Graft and Corrupt Practices Act, perjury, falsification of public documents, falsification by private individuals and use of falsified documents, and violations of the Government Procurement Reform Act.
