Graham Norton wins court order against Meta over fabricated posts

  • Graham Norton has been granted a US court order compelling Meta to reveal the source behind a Facebook account publishing AI-generated and factually inaccurate posts about him.
  • The account, “The Westminster Wire”, has been posting about Norton since it was created in December 2025, including false reports of his mother's death, his own supposed ill-health and AI-generated images of him and his husband Jonathan McLeod.
  • According to The Irish Independent, Norton told the district court in California that he has been forced to debunk the false information to his friends.
  • He said that the posts superimposed him into fake scenarios and the “false attributions of offensive, racist, or otherwise deeply objectionable views and conduct”.
  • The comedian plans to pursue legal proceedings in the High Court in England against the individual(s) responsible.
