
- The Green Party has taken its first council of this year’s local elections by winning Norwich City Council.
- The Greens have taken control from the Labour Party.
- It comes as the Wales Green Party won its first-ever seat in the Senedd, with leader Anthony Slaughter elected in Caerdydd Penarth.
- Mr Slaughter gained the fourth seat in the constituency, securing 14 per cent of the vote, ahead of Labour's 12 per cent.
- In another big win for the Greens, Zoe Garbett was elected as the new mayor of Hackney, marking the party's first directly-elected mayoral victory.
