Greenpeace activists staged a protest on the beach in Santa Marta, Colombia, displaying large-scale messages promoting renewable energy and calling for an end to fossil fuels.

The demonstration took place alongside an international conference attended by around 60 countries focused on transitioning away from fossil fuels.

Aerial images showed slogans such as “renewables power peace” and “sun and wind, energy of the future.”

Activists said the action aimed to highlight the urgency of tackling climate change and to encourage governments to accelerate efforts toward a just energy transition.
