
High jumper Leonard Grospe gave the Philippines its second gold medal at the 6th Asian Beach Games in Sanya, China on Friday morning.
Grospe ruled the event after clearing the height of 2.05 meters. Before that, he cleared 1.80, 1.90 and 2 meters.
He failed to clear 2.10 m after five attempts.
Taiwan’s Po-Ting Yeh captured the silver medal after clearing 2 meters while China’s Hao Zhang clinched the bronze medal after also clearing 2 meters.
The Philippines won its first two medals on Thursday, courtesy of jiu-jitsu as Kaila Napolis bagged the bronze and Alexandria Enriquez captured country its first gold medal in the ongoing games.
