RANAU: PBS Acting President cum Kundasang Assemblyman Datuk Seri Dr. Joachim Gunsalam highlighted various development projects, including the construction of mini halls, suspension bridges, and roads, are being implemented to ensure equitable benefits for all areas.
“I am pleased to see that many homes are now significantly improved compared to the past. The government’s duty is to assist to the best of our ability and provide the best service for the well-being of the people,” he said at a Mirumo-rumo gathering with the community in several Polling District Centers (PDM) within the Kundasang DUN area.
“If given the mandate by the people, GRS will continue the development in this DUN and throughout Sabah,” he said.
Beyond physical development, the State Government, under the leadership of GRS in collaboration with Pakatan Harapan (PH), remains committed to strengthening Sabah’s political autonomy and advocating for the rights of the state’s people.
“We want our own people to take care of Sabah. The slogan ‘Our Home, We Take Care Of’ is not just political rhetoric, but a principle of struggle to ensure that the people of Sabah continue to be entrusted to govern the state according to our own mould,” he said.
He said collaboration between GRS and PH does not undermine Sabah’s position as the primary driver of state administration but rather strengthens development ties with the Federal Government.
“We are the drivers for Sabah, while the Federal Government complements and assists us.”He said the GRS Government always prioritizes the welfare and human capital development, including through increased student scholarships and the Rumah Mesra SMJ initiative, which will have its quota increased to 50 units for each DUN if given renewed trust.
