GRS principles must be practised from top down, says Victor

TAMBUNAN: Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) needs to translate its four core principles into concrete action from the top leadership down to the grassroots, said Parti Gagasan Rakyat Sabah (PGRS) Tambunan coordinator Datuk Victor P Paut (pic). He welcomed GRS chairman Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor’s call to prioritise Sabah’s interests over political ego, saying the principles of Sabah First, Sabah United, Sabah Forward and Sabah Prosper must be demonstrated through leadership by example.

Victor said the principles emphasised prioritising Sabah and its people, unity, progress and shared prosperity, adding that leaders should set the example before expecting members at division, district and branch levels to follow.

He also hoped the Keningau parliamentary seat would be included in GRS’s target of winning at least 16 of Sabah and Labuan’s 26 parliamentary seats in the next general election, saying the constituency needed more strategic development to realise its potential.

The Keningau seat is currently held by Parti Solidariti Tanah Airku president Datuk Seri Jeffrey Kitingan, who won it in the 2022 general election before leaving GRS ahead of the 17th Sabah election.
