Indians are at it, again, but this time in their own country. A video has recently gone viral showing a group of Gujarati tourists performing Garba beside a road blocked by a landslide triggering criticism and reigniting debates over tourist conduct, safety awareness and the growing influence of social media culture.
The incident reportedly occurred in a mountainous region where a landslide had disrupted traffic, leaving several tourist buses and private vehicles stranded.
Rather than waiting quietly for the road to reopen, a group of tourists turned the delay into an impromptu Garba performance.
Videos shared on X and Instagram show people dancing on the roadside.
Several social media users described the act as insensitive, while some defended the tourists, saying they were simply trying to stay positive and pass time during a prolonged delay.
In recent months, social media users have criticised Indians for dancing on an airport tarmac, performing garba on the Great Wall of China, among other places.
