After the resignation of Renu Bhatia from the post of chairperson of the Haryana State Commission for Women (HSCW) following nurses’ strike in the state, the government has appointed Usha Priyadarshini as the new chairperson.
The name was cleared on June 10.
She has long been associated with the BJP and has played an active role within the organisation. Hailing from the OBC category, she had been serving as the State President of the Haryana BJP Mahila Morcha since January 2024.
The state government has appointed Meena Parmar as the vice-chairperson. Parmar has previously contested elections on a BJP ticket from the Tosham assembly constituency.
