In a major push towards skill-based and employment-oriented higher education, Gurugram University has announced the launch of 14 academic programmes from the 2026-27 session in line with the National Education Policy (NEP), aiming to bridge the gap between education and industry requirements.
University officials said the newly introduced courses have been designed to equip students with practical skills, multidisciplinary exposure, research opportunities and industry-relevant expertise to improve employability in emerging sectors.
Vice-Chancellor Dr Sanjay Kaushik said the university was continuously working towards aligning its academic ecosystem with changing global and industry trends.
“Our endeavour is to ensure that the courses and curriculum remain in tandem with the needs of current times. The focus is not only on academic excellence but also on skill development, innovation and employability so that students are prepared for future challenges,” Kaushik said.
The university will introduce a diverse range of undergraduate, postgraduate, integrated and diploma programmes spanning management, psychology, artificial intelligence, forensic science, humanities and disaster management.
The new courses include Master of Business Administration (Executive), Bachelor of Management Studies (Industry Integrated – Travel and Tourism), Integrated M.Sc Life Sciences, B.Sc (Honours) Clinical Psychology (RCI approved), Professional Diploma in Clinical Psychology (RCI approved), Post-Graduate Diploma in Educational Management and Leadership (PGDEML) and Post-Graduate Diploma in Information and Communication Technology and Artificial Intelligence in Education (PGDICTAI).
Other programmes include B.Com (Global), MA in Theatre Studies, MSc Forensic Science, MSc Geography, MA Sociology, MA History and MSc Disaster Management.
University authorities said the courses were structured to provide students with experiential learning, exposure to contemporary technologies and opportunities aligned with evolving job markets.
Officials added that the introduction of AI-focused and industry-integrated programmes reflects the university’s attempt to adapt to rapid technological and economic transformations while also strengthening interdisciplinary learning.
Meanwhile, the university has also started the admission process for undergraduate programmes for the upcoming academic session. Interested candidates can apply online through the university’s official website. The move comes at a time when universities across Haryana and the NCR region are increasingly revamping curricula to match industry demand and improve placement opportunities for students amid growing competition in the higher education sector.
