The “H” vehicle registration series raised a record RM91.2 million through JPJeBid, with the H1 plate fetching RM10.78 million, says Transport Minister Anthony Loke.
PETALING JAYA: The “H” vehicle registration series introduced in conjunction with Malaysia Day 2026 has generated a record RM91.2 million, with H1 alone fetching RM10.78 million.
Transport Minister Anthony Loke said the five-day JPJeBid exercise, held from Sept 16 to 20, generated RM89.27 million in successful bids and RM1.94 million in service fees.
“The H series created a significant achievement when the Transport Ministry (MOT), through the Road Transport Department (JPJ), successfully recorded total collections of RM91,206,642,” he said in a statement today.
The exercise attracted 34,664 bidders, with 8,223 registration numbers successfully bid for.
H9 recorded the second-highest bid at RM4.97 million, followed by H3 at RM4.21 million, H5 at RM4.01 million and H8 at RM4 million.
Other top bids included H6 at RM3.38 million, H2 at RM3.18 million, H7 at RM3.1 million, H4 at RM2.44 million and H11 at RM1.56 million.
Loke said the strong response reflected public interest in the special registration numbers, while the results also demonstrated the effectiveness of JPJeBid in making the bidding process easier, faster, more efficient and transparent.
He said the revenue generated through the initiative would be channelled back to the public through various MOT and JPJ programmes, including road safety initiatives.
In a Facebook post today, Loke said half of the RM91.2 million would go into the Government’s Consolidated Fund, while the other half would be used to finance people-oriented MOT initiatives.
He said the “H” series was originally designated as a registration series for taxis.
“With the substantial revenue generated, MOT will use the money to assist taxi and rental car drivers across the country,” he said.
Loke also said there would be “good news” for taxi drivers next week.
