THE registration number H1 fetched a record-breaking RM10.7 million during the bidding for the 'H' series registration numbers introduced by the Road Transport Department (JPJ).
Bidding for the H1 to H9999 series was conducted via the JPJeBid system from September 16 to 20, with the results announced on September 21.
This information was shared by social media users, many of whom were astonished by the winning bid amount.
The 'H' series was introduced in conjunction with Malaysia Day celebrations and marks the final single-letter special registration number series offered by the JPJ.
JPJ Director-General Datuk Aedy Fadly Ramli stated that the letter 'H' was selected for its association with the word 'harmony,' thereby symbolising societal and national harmony in conjunction with Malaysia Day.
He added that following the 'H' series, the JPJ would no longer offer special registration numbers featuring a single letter. – September 21, 2026
