National Moto3 rider Muhammad Hakim Danish Ramli prioritises another season in Moto3 to build strength and maturity before targeting a Moto2 move

PUCHONG: National Moto3 sensation, Muhammad Hakim Danish Ramli has chosen not to rush into the Moto2 class, instead preferring to continue sharpening his skills in the existing category for at least one more season.

The decision was made by the 18-year-old rider to ensure that he is truly mentally and physically strong before facing tougher challenges at a higher level.

“In my opinion, I might want to stay in Moto3 for another year, but whatever I do, I leave it to ZK Racing Manager, Zulfahmi Khairuddin, who will decide for me,” he said when met at the RCB co-sponsorship ceremony for 2026 here, today.

Commenting further, Danish, who is currently competing with the MT Helmets-MSi team, admitted that the Moto2 class demands a much higher level of maturity, especially in handling larger machinery and competing with more aggressive riders.

“I want to gain more knowledge to be close to Moto3 because Moto2 competition is even more challenging.

“So if I stay closer to Moto3, maybe I will understand more about the many things I can learn in terms of how they race and also better motorcycle control,” he said.

Although targeting a transition to the next category by 2028, Danish is aware that the ‘ticket’ to Moto2 depends entirely on consistent performance and the results he achieves throughout this season.

Touching on his big dream, the Terengganu native stressed that his main focus is to chase the world championship by placing consistency as the main key.

“Of course I am thinking of fighting for the championship but I need to be consistent in every race, get a podium and try to win the race, from there if we are consistent, God willing, the championship will come,” he said.

Earlier, RCB gave RM6,000 which was channeled to the account Amanah Saham Bumiputera (ASB) of Hakim Danish for his previous success.
