KUALA LUMPUR, June 13 — Former Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) deputy president Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin today announced Parti Wawasan Negara as the new political vehicle for the Reset movement.

Speaking at the Reset convention in Tanah Merah, Kelantan, the Larut MP said the party's name had been proposed by PAS president Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang.

The move gives the Reset movement — comprising leaders and members who have left or been expelled from Bersatu — a formal political platform ahead of the next general election.

According to Berita Harian, Reset organisers said the convention drew about 20,000 supporters.

The convention was officiated by Abdul Hadi and attended by Kelantan Menteri Besar Datuk Mohd Nassuruddin Daud, Perikatan Nasional chairman Datuk Seri Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar, Hamzah, who founded the Reset movement, and Gerakan president Datuk Dominic Lau.

Hamzah did not elaborate on whether Parti Wawasan Negara was a newly registered entity or an existing party adopted by the movement.
