
Kota Kinabalu: Federal Youth and Sports Minister Hannah Yeoh has confirmed her attendance at the upcoming 2025 JOM! Malaysia-China Friendship Run, adding prominence and significance to this year’s event.
The event is organised by the Malaysia-China Friendship Association Sabah.
Its President Dr Oh Ei Sun, together with Executive Vice President and Secretary-General Steven Liaw and Organising Chairperson Michael Lim, paid a courtesy visit to Yeoh.

Dr Oh said Yeoh’s confirmation brings strong encouragement and validation to the event.
“The Minister’s involvement elevates the event’s official stature and public visibility, while highlighting the Government’s commitment to strengthening Malaysia-China people-to-people ties, promoting public health, and fostering the spirit of sports.
“This not only lends the event greater authority and representation but also reinforces the close bond between the peoples of both nations, taking the 2025 edition to new heights in both meaning and impact.”
He also expressed gratitude to Chan and Datuk Phoong Jin Zhe, Sabah Industrial Development and Entrepreneurship Minister and Luyang Assemblyman, for their support in facilitating the invitation.
The 7km run is scheduled to flag off at Padang Merdeka at 6am on July 27.
