KUALA LUMPUR: Fresh from his return after watching his favourite team Harimau Malaya fight to a nail-biting 3-3 draw with South Korea, superfan Derrick Gan seems to have lined up a suprise for fellow football fans.
The surprise has something to do with the new motorcycle by Modenas upon his arrival at Kuala Lumpur International Airport yesterday, which was arranged by local private radio station ERA, he told Bernama when contacted today.
“I am very touched and did not expect the surprise (the new motorcycle) and that they would send it to KLIA,” he said
Derrick, however, was tight-lipped about what exactly the surprise is and his future plans for his new motorcycle, merely informing Bernama that he would ‘make an announcement regarding it soon’.

“I’m given to understand that travelling to Oman is expensive but I’ll definitely go to watch our team playing against them in the reverse fixture at Bukit Jalil National Stadium on March 26,” he added.
Derrick became an overnight sensation when news about how he was willing to sell his motorcycle to finance his trip to watch the Harimau Malaya team in action at the 2023 Asian Cup Finals in Doha.
Photos of him crying in happiness during the 3-3 sensational draw went viral among local fans and netizens, who then gave him the Malay nickname ‘abang rambut perang’ and his dedication as a superfan is widely admired by fellow Malaysians.
Derrick did reveal to Bernama last Friday that he received RM4,500 from the sale of his motorcycle, that he advertised on Facebook in December last year.
