Residents of Ambala, Kurukshetra and Yamunanagar districts will no longer have to visit police stations for character certificates, passport verification, tenant verification and other police clearance-related services.

In a citizen-centric initiative, Ambala Range IG Pankaj Nain has directed police officials in the three districts to conduct verification processes at the applicants’ residences. The police will also obtain feedback from applicants after the verification process and have issued dedicated helpline numbers to receive complaints related to delays, misconduct or corruption.

The decision was taken during a meeting of police officials from the three districts convened by the IG.
