The residents of Ambala, Kurukshetra and Yamunanagar districts under the Ambala police range, will no longer have to run to police stations to get the police verifications done for the character, passport, tenant verifications and other police clearance certificates.

Inspector General (IG) Ambala Range Pankaj Nain has instructed the police officials under the Ambala range to visit the house of the applicant to complete the verifications. The police will also take feedback from the applicant and has also issued complaint numbers to register complaints related to verification process.

As per the information, the IG held a meeting with the police officials of the three districts last evening and issued the instructions. In case of any delay in verification, wrong behaviour and complaints related to corruption, the applicants will be able to submit their complaints.

For Ambala the complaints can be registered on 01712609505 and 01712609525, for Yamunanagar district the complaints can be given on 8818000119 and in Kurukshetra, the applicants can approach 7056700233.

An official said the Ambala Range Police has taken a significant initiative aimed at making police services more accessible, transparent and citizen-friendly for the general public.

The citizens will no longer be required to make repeated visits to police stations for various verification tasks, including character certificates, passport verification, tenant verification and all other types of police clearances. Under this new system, the police officials will visit the applicant’s residence to complete the verification process, thereby saving people’s time and sparing them from unnecessary inconvenience.

Once a citizen submits an online application via the ‘HarSamay’ portal of the Haryana police, the application will be forwarded to the concerned police station and subsequently, the Station House Officer (SHO) will send the concerned police official to the applicant’s address to conduct the verification.

Prior to the visit, the applicant will be contacted to confirm their availability, ensuring that the verification process can be completed without any delays or inconvenience.

The feedback received will be regularly reviewed by the IG office itself, and daily reports regarding the feedback is mandatory.

IG Nain said to ensure transparency and accountability, it has been decided to start the verification at the applicant’s house. Upon the completion of the verification process, feedback will be taken from the applicant over the phone.

“If any individual faces difficulties, delays, improper conduct or issues related to corruption during the verification process, they can directly register their complaint and suggestions on the given numbers. The identity of the complainant will be kept confidential and impartial action will be ensured regarding every complaint received,” he added.

IG Nain said “The objective of the police is to provide citizens with better, transparent and time-bound services. This new system has been implemented to simplify crucial processes, such as verification, ensuring that people do not have to make unnecessary rounds of police stations. We aim to ensure that every citizen receives respectful and corruption-free service. In case of any complaints regarding negligence or bribery, strict action will be taken against the concerned employees.”
