The Haryana Congress has decided to raise a series of public issues, including inflation, paper leaks, power and water shortages, and law and order, during the upcoming session of the Haryana Vidhan Sabha.

The decision was taken at a meeting of the Congress Legislature Party (CLP) chaired by former Chief Minister and Leader of the Opposition Bhupinder Singh Hooda. The meeting began with a two-minute silence in memory of former Chief Minister Bhajan Lal.

Congress legislators held detailed discussions on several matters of public concern and chalked out the party’s future strategy. Members expressed concern over rising inflation, increasing prices of petrol, diesel and LPG, the Summary Revision of Electoral Rolls (SIR), bank scams, paper leaks, the NEET examination, cancellation of examinations and recruitments, CBSE paper evaluation, deteriorating law and order, and shortages of electricity and water.

Many members suggested launching a statewide agitation on these issues.

Hooda directed legislators, district-level leaders and Booth Level Agents (BLAs) to actively participate in the SIR process till July 15.

“Congress must remain alert against any irregularities in the SIR,” Hooda said, urging party workers to ensure that no genuine voter is deleted from the rolls and no fake voter is added.

Addressing a press conference after the meeting, Hooda said party leaders had met the Election Commission regarding alleged irregularities in the Rajya Sabha elections. He also stated that the Congress had submitted a reply to the notice issued by the Speaker over the party’s symbolic session held outside the Assembly premises and had not received any further communication from the Speaker’s office.

Hooda said another CLP meeting would be held after July 15 to finalise the party’s future programmes and campaigns.
