The intra-group hockey tournament (Group-A) begun on Monday at Sainik School Kunjpura, with the participation of five institutions, Sainik School of Nagrota, Sainik School of Kapurthala, Sainik School of Sujanpur Tira and Woodspark Sainik School, apart from the host school.
The tournament will continue till May 15.
The tournament was formally inaugurated by Captain (IN) Gurbir Singh, Principal, Kunjpura School, who ceremonially released balloons to mark the opening of the event.
Colonel Nirmaljeet Singh, Vice Principal and Wing Commander Soniya Sharma, administrative officer, along with staff members and officials accompanying the participating teams, were also present on the occasion.
The opening U-17 match between Sainik School Sujanpur Tira and Sainik School Kunjpura witnessed an exciting contest, with the former emerging victorious by 3-2.
In another match, the U-15 team of Sainik School Nagrota secured a convincing 2-0 victory. In the U-15 match, Kapurthala defeated Kunjpura by 1-0.
