A man was arrested for allegedly strangling his wife and 15-year-old daughter to death. The accused was identified as Ashok Kumar, a resident of Dhani Thakran village, Mahendragarh district.
A district police spokesman said Ashok is currently undergoing rigorous interrogation as the investigators work to uncover the motive behind the killing of his wife, Rajbala, and daughter, Meenakshi.
The arrest followed a complaint lodged by Rajbala’s brother, Amar Singh, a resident of Berli Khurd village. In his statement, Amar Singh alleged that his brother-in-law murdered his sister and niece on June 1.
As per police investigators and local sources, Ashok had a strained relationship with his wife, and a quarrel led to the double murder.
A case was registered under the relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) at the Nangal Chaudhary police station.
