Haryana Health Minister Aarti Singh Rao inaugurates and dedicates health projects in the district on Thursday.

In a major push to strengthen healthcare infrastructure in Gurugram amid rapid urbanisation and population growth, Haryana Health Minister Aarti Singh Rao, on Thursday, inaugurated and dedicated multiple health projects worth nearly Rs 2.86 crore across the district.

The projects include a new Block Public Health Unit (BPHU) at Helimandi and new sub-health centre buildings in Chandu, Noorgarh and Mahchana villages. Pataudi MLA Bimla Chaudhary was also present during the programme held at the PWD Rest House in Gurugram.

Addressing the gathering, Rao said “Keeping in view the increasing population and rapid urbanisation, the government is continuously working towards strengthening healthcare infrastructure so that people receive better, accessible and quality medical facilities.”

She added that both rural and urban healthcare delivery systems were being strengthened through new hospital buildings, sub-health centres, block public health units and modern medical facilities.

Among the major projects inaugurated was a block public health unit at sub-divisional civil hospital, Helimandi, developed at a cost of nearly Rs 50 lakh.

The facility will function as a diagnostic hub for Pataudi block and provide laboratory testing services including HB, ESR, RBS, dengue, malaria and blood grouping.

A sub-health centre building at Chandu village was built at a cost of approximately Rs 89.45 lakh and a sub-health centre at Mahchana village was constructed at a cost of about Rs 64.83 lakh.

Officials said these projects would improve both accessibility and quality of primary healthcare services in rural areas. Announcing further expansion plans, Rao said several new healthcare projects were already in the pipeline for Gurugram.

“A new Primary Health Centre (PHC) will be established in Baghnaki area, while a new sub-health centre is proposed in Ghamroj village,” she said.

The minister further announced that eight new sub-health centres and three new PHCs would be established in Gurugram during the current financial year.

The proposed PHCs will come up at Ransika, Rithoj and Sidharwali. “These institutions will provide better medical facilities to a large population living in surrounding areas,” Rao added.

The health minister also announced that PHCs at Daulatabad and Wazirabad would be upgraded into community health centres (CHCs) to strengthen specialist healthcare services in the district.

“With these upgrades, specialist healthcare services, modern medical equipment and better treatment facilities will become available locally,” she said.

The minister directed health department officials to ensure regular monitoring of all ongoing health-related development projects and maintain construction quality standards.

She stressed that every healthcare expansion project should be periodically reviewed and no negligence in implementation would be tolerated.
