A Haryana Police constable was killed while two head constables were seriously injured in a road accident late last night on the KMP Expressway passing through Nuh district. The accident occurred near Khera Khalilpur when a speeding dumper hit the vehicle of a Dial-112 police team.

According to the police, the Dial-112 team of police had reached the spot after receiving information about a Tata pickup accident on the KMP Expressway.

Policemen were engaged in relief work and managing traffic there. Meanwhile, a speeding dumper coming from the Rewasan side lost control and collided directly with the police vehicle. After the accident, the accused dumper driver fled away, leaving his vehicle at the spot.

According to eyewitnesses, the impact was so severe that the police vehicle was badly damaged and all three policemen were critically injured. Constable Balwan died on the spot, while two injured head constables were rushed to a nearby hospital, where they are undergoing treatment.

After getting information, senior police officers arrived at the scene. Police sent the body of the deceased constable Balwan for post-mortem examination.

“FIR has been registered and we are currently searching for the absconding dumper driver. Initial investigations indicate speeding and negligence as the primary causes of the accident,” said a senior police officer.
