A section of contractual and permanent employees, teaching staff, hostel workers, and students of Deenbandhu Chhotu Ram University of Science and Technology, Murthal, took out a protest march on campus today and gheraoed the Vice-Chancellor’s office to press their long-pending demands. However, the VC was not present at the office, hence the protesters submitted a memorandum to the Registrar.

Suresh Kumar, president of the Deenbandhu Chhotu Ram Employees’ Union, Sonepat, stated they organised protest against non-finalisation of service rules, which has resulted in stalled promotions and pay fixation for the past three years; non-implementation of Haryana Government’s SETC guidelines dated April 30, 2025; failure to implement job security rules for contractual employees; pending salary for three HKRNL employees for October–December 2025, deteriorating hostel, road, and building infrastructure etc.

He said if the university authorities don’t take action on these demands, the agitation would be intensified. In the coming days, protests will be held in Sonepat, and a memorandum will be submitted to the Deputy Commissioner against the Vice-Chancellor’s functioning, he added.
