SHAH ALAM – Schools under eight district education offices in Selangor will be closed on Friday due to the haze, while schools in Hulu Selangor and Sabak Bernam will remain open.
In a statement issued today, the Selangor State Education Department (JPNS) said the closure would affect schools under the Klang, Kuala Selangor, Kuala Langat, Hulu Langat, Gombak, Sepang, Petaling Perdana and Petaling Utama district education offices.
However, outdoor activities will be prohibited in Hulu Selangor and Sabak Bernam, where schools will continue operating as usual.
JPNS urged parents, guardians, students and the education community to take note of the announcement and refer to its official channels for the latest updates.
The department said any changes to school operations would also be announced through its official channels.
Education Minister Fadhlina Sidek announced the closure of schools in the eight affected districts in a Facebook post on Thursday.
