HBO has officially released the trailer and key art for its chilling new original drama series, IT: Welcome to Derry, set to debut on Monday, 27 October. The eight-episode season will air weekly on HBO (Astro Ch 411 / Unifi TV Ch 401) and will also be available to stream on HBO Max, culminating in a season finale on 15 December.

A terrifying new chapter in the Stephen King universe, IT: Welcome to Derry expands on the mythos of the best-selling novel IT, while also serving as a prequel to the blockbuster films IT (2017) and IT Chapter Two (2019), both directed by Andy Muschietti, who returns to helm multiple episodes of the new series.

Developed for television by Andy Muschietti, Barbara Muschietti, and Jason Fuchs, the series is produced by HBO and Warner Bros. Television. Fuchs, known for his work on IT Chapter Two and Wonder Woman, also penned the teleplay for the opening episode and shares co-showrunner duties with Brad Caleb Kane (Tokyo Vice, Fringe).

Set in the eerie town of Derry, Maine – where the horrors of Pennywise the Dancing Clown first took root – the series delves into the sinister origins of the evil that haunts the town. With echoes of the familiar, Welcome to Derry aims to introduce new layers of psychological terror and emotional depth to the classic horror story.

The ensemble cast includes Jovan Adepo, Taylour Paige, Chris Chalk, James Remar, Stephen Rider, Madeleine Stowe, Rudy Mancuso, and Bill Skarsgård, who reprises his haunting role as Pennywise.

With a mix of new characters, familiar faces, and spine-tingling suspense, the horror series is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated horror television events of the year. Stream IT: Welcome to Derry from 27 October exclusively on HBO Max.
