MANILA, Philippines — Health workers, doctors and nurses on Tuesday filed a motion before the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) seeking an immediate investigation into what they described as continuing unethical and unprofessional conduct by physician Lorraine Marie T. Badoy.
The Alliance of Health Workers said that the filing follows PRC's May 8 decision to suspend Badoy's medical license for six months after finding her guilty of violating the Revised Code of Ethics of the Medical Profession.
AHW said Badoy published a series of Facebook posts beginning June 28, days after the complainants' counsel received the PRC decision, and alleged that the posts repeated accusations against the organization and its members.
The group asked PRC to investigate the reported statements and determine whether they constitute further violations of standards governing the medical profession.
