Heavily tattooed Nancy Mace shows off her new look as she launches YouTube podcast

U.S. Representative Nancy Mace has unveiled a heavily-tattooed look on her newly launched YouTube podcast.

Mace had her first nine tattoos done around 2023-24 amid a series of personal crises, telling Politico earlier this year it was so should could feel “the pain that I need to feel.”

The 48 year-old has now unveiled the ink to the world on her Get Maced show, sporting a sleeveless top strikingly different to her attire on Capitol Hill.

The tattoos are clearly on display in the podcast’s opening montage, which features Mace in a number of locations including on a beach with a surfboard and a shooting range firing off rounds while rock music blares.

The word ‘justice’ can be seen written down her left arm, while other varied artwork appears to range from floral designs to a portrait of a lion.

Another tattoo includes the first sentence from a Virginia Woolf novel: “Mrs Dalloway said she would buy the flowers herself”.

Mace, who is coming off an unsuccessful South Carolina gubernatorial bid, told Politico earlier this year she has tattoos to “reclaim” her body.

Some of the ink was added amid the break up with her fiancé and high-profile clashes with former staffers.

The tattoos have attracted comments of their own on social media, with author and activist Shannon Watts writing on X: “We’re living in a simulation” in apparent disbelief.

Mace’s most recent podcast clips include titles such as “Nancy Mace called a BIGOT for exposing animal sacrifices” and “Nancy Mace EXPOSES the American Middle East: The City That ABANDONED America for RADICAL ISLAM”.

They continue the South Carolina representative’s apparent preoccupation with Islam in the U.S., which have led to accusations of Islamophobia that she has denied.

Earlier this month, Mace responded to Michigan Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed winning his Democratic primary last week, by posting: “Every single Muslim holding public office in America is a trojan horse, and a threat to both national security and our republic.”

She was taken to task for the comments in a clash with CNN host Oscar Jimenez.

Despite the political nature of the YouTube show, the Republican revealed in June she plans to return to the private sector after she leaves Capitol Hill in January.
