MANILA, Philippines — Jose Rizal University (JRU) cruised to its fifth straight win after taking down Emilio Aguinaldo College (EAC), 84-74, in the crossover round of the NCAA Season 102 men’s basketball tournament on Monday night at the FilOil EcoOil Centre in San Juan City.
The JRU Heavy Bombers tallied a 6-1 win-loss record, tied with College of Saint Benilde in Group A.
Chris Hubilla led the scoring for JRU with a double-double performance of 26 points, along with 12 rebounds, three assists, and two steals.
Lawrence Mangubat and Sean Salvador added 15 and 11 markers, each.
Jude Bagay tried to put up a fight for the Generals with 17 points, while Wilmar Oftana added 14 markers each.
