MetMalaysia issues a thunderstorm warning for seven states, including Perak and Johor, with heavy rain and strong winds until 9pm.

KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a thunderstorm, heavy rain and strong winds warning for seven states until 9 pm today.

In the warning issued at 5 pm, MetMalaysia said the adverse weather conditions were expected to affect Perak, involving Kerian, Larut, Matang and Selama, Hulu Perak, Kuala Kangsar, Kinta and Kampar.

The warning was also issued for Negeri Sembilan involving Jelebu, Kuala Pilah, Jempol and Tampin, while in Johor, the affected areas are Segamat and Mersing.

In Terengganu, the affected areas are Kuala Nerus, Hulu Terengganu, Kuala Terengganu, Marang, Dungun and Kemaman, while in Pahang, the warning covers Jerantut, Temerloh, Maran, Kuantan, Bera and Rompin.

Meanwhile, in Sarawak, the affected areas are Kapit (Kapit and Bukit Mabong), Bintulu (Tatau and Sebauh) and Limbang, while in Sabah, the warning involves Kinabatangan in Sandakan.
