KOTA KINABALU: Sabah Electricity Sdn Bhd technical teams are working to repair a collapsed transmission tower in Kampung Sarapung, Penampang, despite difficult weather conditions.

Heavy rain has made the walk into the site challenging, forcing crews to carry equipment on foot to reach the damaged location.

Sabah Electricity Chief Executive Officer Datuk Mohd Yaakob Jaafar said worker safety remains the top priority while repairs are carried out under adverse conditions.

He said the teams are pressing on day and night, supported by Sabah Air Aviation Sdn Bhd which provided a helicopter to lift equipment for building an Emergency Restoration System tower.

Mohd Yaakob appealed for public patience during the recovery work, assuring that Sabah Electricity is fully committed to restoring stable electricity supply as quickly and safely as possible.
