KOTA BHARU – The Health Ministry (MOH) has informed the family of Dr Ainul Baraah Kamaruddin, 32, from Baung, Pengkalan Chepa here, that she has died.
She was one of the passengers on board a helicopter reported to have crashed and caught fire near Long Lellang Airport, Ulu Baram in Sarawak on Tuesday.
The victim’s brother-in-law, Nureez Mohd Pauzi, 35, said the call from MOH was made to Dr Ainul’s husband, Muhammad Faiz Abdul Malik, a teacher in Sarawak, at around 4pm.
“So far, the body has not been found.
“Dr Ainul has been working there (Sarawak) for three years and it had become routine for her and a nurse to use helicopter services to reach a clinic located in the interior,” he said when contacted on Tuesday.

He added that the family are now at the Sultan Ismail Petra Airport (LTSIP) in Pengkalan Chepa to travel to Kuala Lumpur before departing for Sarawak at dawn on Wednesday.
