The Iran-backed Hezbollah militia fired several rockets at Israeli soldiers in southern Lebanon on Monday, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) reported
Three projectiles were identified, and some were intercepted before they could reach Israeli territory, the IDF said on its Telegram channel.
Rocket alerts were issued in several towns in northern Israel and no one was injured, the IDF said.
Before the new Hezbollah attacks, Lebanese media had reported that Israel had carried out strikes in southern Lebanon.
On Sunday, in response to Hezbollah rocket attacks on northern Israel, the Israeli army struck targets in the suburbs of the Lebanese capital, Beirut.
Iran subsequently fired rockets at Israel for the first time in two months.
