KOTA KINABALU: All applications previously granted by the former coroner assigned to the inquest into the death of Zara Qairina Mahathir have been set aside.
High Court Judge Datuk Duncan Sikidol made the ruling on Tuesday after hearing a revision application filed by the Sabah Law Society (SLS).
The revision challenged the decision of Sabah State Court Director Azreena Aziz, who had recused herself from presiding over the inquest.
Sikidol directed all parties, including Zara’s family’s legal team and counsels for the five teenagers charged in connection with bullying, to submit fresh applications before the new coroner, Amir Shah Amir Hassan.
