RANAU: A 22-year-old female hiker was rescued from Mount Kinabalu on Sunday after falling unconscious at Sayat-Sayat Checkpoint.

The hiker was reported to have breathing difficulties.

The hiker was carried down the mountain using a piggyback carry method and transferred to an ambulance at Timpohon Gate.

The rescue operation lasted approximately four hours and concluded at 1.50pm.
